Gato Island


The island of Gato is a protected marine sanctuary. The Island is especially well known for the sleeping sharks and black and white banded sea snakes.

 

The sandy bottom, about 25 meters deep, is covered with huge rocks in which beautiful soft corals and abundant black corals are growing. Under the rocks you may see hiding species of sleeping white tipped shark, blue spotted sting rays, groupers, cuttle fishes, squids, a lot beautiful coral fishes, nudibranches, and shells,definitely a paradise for photographers.
