The Cavite City Library and Museum was formed to serve as a depository of historical and cultural information and artifacts. With books, photographs, memorabilia and relic that records the city's history and progress. It also serves as a learning and information center for Cavite residents and other nearby towns.
Former Mayor, Timoteo O. Encarnacion Jr, is the founder of Cavite City Library and Museum. It was created to preserve cultural materials of the province so that the future generations of Cavite will learn and know about the city's historic and vibrant past.
The library also has tons of books that are free to use for research and other needs. To this date, Cavite City Library Museum has a total of more than ten thousand books under its belt. Their books are categorized as General Collection, Filipiniana Collection, Children's Collection and Caviteniana Collection. Besides from books, the CCLM has vertical files, periodicals section, video and audiotapes, cd-roms, maps and other library materials.
