Dagyao is a voluntary and reciprocal group service. The beauty of dagyao is seen in community and group activities such as building or repair of houses and preparation of rice and cornfields. The act of dagyao requires no payment though whoever receives the service is expected to return the service in the future.

The Padagyao Festival centers in the community's altruistic acts, to express gratitude towards those that participated in the dagyao, the recipient of the gracious act would make the last day of the service as an occasion for indulgences by preparing food and tuba, a favorite local beverage.
