Homonhon Island is an island located at the east of Samar and at the west of Leyte Gulf. It is deemed as a haven with white corals bordering the island's shores. It has one of the best beaches and majority of the island is covered in trees.
The island is not only valuable because of its heavenly scenery. It is also of historic significance. Ferdinand Magellan, leader of the earliest expedition done in the Philippines, was said to have dropped the anchor on Homonhon's shores before any other place in the archipelago.
