Called "Sayawan sa Calle" Festival, the festival which is centered in the Church, dates back from the mid-1700s when people in the area danced publicly to show their joy over the departure of the English soldiers who occupied the area for a few days during the Spanish-English war. The practice of street dancing has since become a tradition that took on the form of spiritual thanksgiving every 12th of May.
