The basilica is located on an elevated ground with Mt. Banahaw and Mt. San Cristobal on the background. The basilica, a mute witness to the history of Tayabas, underwent numerous transformation, from an ordinary camarin type church made of bamboo, nipa and anahaw, to a 103 meter in length church, made of concrete and stone. One will get to appreciate the Baroque influence on the architectural and interior design of the basilica as manifested on its façade and church interiors.
