The monastery is the only Cistercian Monastery in the Philippines.  Trappists follow the ideals and values of monastic life written in the Rule of St. Benedict. The Trappists' life is divided into work and prayer. They are expected to remain silent throughout the day and live a life of strict personal poverty with few personal possessions and limited contact with the outside world.  Trappist monks live off by selling souvenirs, religious items and processed foods such as jellies, jams, candies, piaya, and others.
