Cabanglasan is a 4th class municipality in Bukidnon. As of the 2000 census, Cabanglasan has a population 32,305 living in 5,994 households.
Formerly a barangay from the capital town of Malaybalay, Cabanglasan was declared a separate municipality in August 13, 1979. The municipality was named after the banglas tree because it was abundant in the area. An alternate spelling of the municipality's name, Kabanglasan, is a local term for "a place of banglas trees".
Cabanglasan is politically subdivided into 15 barangays.
