Mainly an agricultural area, San Remigio has vast tracts of farmlands and marine sanctuaries to boot. It is comprised of 27 barangays, which has manifested quite a myriad of projects in the new administration. Among these include an extensive focus on upland development through tree plantation and agro – forestry and the preservation of marine life through mangrove reforestation and sea grass bed sanctuary.
The municipality of San Remigio, in spite of the cudgels of time and economic turmoil, stands out as an embodiment of one “sleeping giant” gradually rising to prove to its townsfolk what they should be proud of.
