Gaston Park

Gaston Park is of historical significance. It was the site of a Spanish settlement. It eventually became an execution ground for Spanish criminals and turned later into a training ground for soldiers during the American occupation. After the second World War, the Japanese came to the site to plant cherry blossoms as a gift.

The park is named after the first mayor of Cagayan de Oro City, Segundo Gaston.
