Taytay (Palawan)
This fort was built in the mid to late 17th century by the Augustinian Recollects who replaced the early Jesuit community. In those days, the church and the military traveled hand-in-hand throughout the Philippines, building small chapels and protecting them with large fortified walls and a military regiment. Both the fort's cannon and its chapel remain intact to this day. Santa Isabel Fort is located in the town of Taytay, eight hours by jeepney from Puerto Princesa. The historic Taytay Fort built in 1667 under the Augustinian Recollect Fathers was usedas a military station during that period. The fort's small chapel and cannon are still intact. How to get to Santa Isabel Fort From Malvar Terminal in Puerto Princesa, one can take a Taytay-bound jeepney or bus and get off at the Taytay church. The fort can be reached by a three-minute walk from the church. Taytay is 215 kilometers away from Puerto Princesa. Travel time : Eight hours from Puerto Princesa to Taytay church. Taal
Santa Lucia Wells is located in Taal, Batangas, Philippines. About 500 meters off the steps past a dried creek and gloomy undergrowth are the twin wells of Sta. Lucia in Taal. The present site used to be a brook where the Virgin of Caysasay performed miracles and where a church was built by the townsfolk. Casiguran
Santo Entierro is located in Baler, Aurora, Philippines. A glass coffin encasing a statue of Jesus Christ is displayed in a makeshift wooden chapel in Baler. The name of the sculptor is lost; however, locals claim that this icon possesses miraculous powers and grants miracles to those who believe. During Holy Week albularyos (spiritual doctors) and amulet holders flock to this revered statue to insert their anting-anting (amulets) into the niches of the coffin. Sariaya
Sariaya Museum is located in Sariaya, Quezon, Philippines. Considered as the oldest house existed here in Sariaya, was built on 1700 during the Spanish regime and owned by philanthropist Don Juanito Alvarez.This home became the " Quadricentennial Museum" or Sariaya Museum when heirs Mr. Ramon Alvarez decided to lend this home with cultural and historical relics of Sariaya. We could find things such as antique mirrors, chairs and tables, old violin, grinder and others that commemorate the culture and traditions of Sariayahins. The most famous artifact here is the lithograph of the manuscript of NOLI ME TANGERE of Dr. Jose Rizal one of the only 27 existed which was donated thru Dr. Martin Ilao, the writer of " Sariaya, Oh Sariaya: An Introductory History For the Young" by an anonymous donor. Sea Turtle Temporary Feeding and Caring Station is located in Lawi, Jordan, Guimaras. It is a community project initiated and managed by the Barangay Lawi Tourism Council. It aims to preserve the endangered Olive Ridley & Hawksbill sea turtles or pawikan that are nesting on the beach area of Barangay Lawi. It is a floating cage of sea turtles where people can view and touch them.
