Daraga

It is a 1st class municipality in the province of Albay, Philippines. Daraga got its name from the term daraga, which means maiden. But according to legend, the name is derived from the name of a tree that used to abundantly grow atop the hill, where a church is now built.

 

Daraga is the most progressive town in the province of Albay as well as in  the whole of the Bicol Region. In fact, the municipality will be the future site of the Bicol International Airport. This will surely further boost tourism in the region and will bring in more opportunities.  Soon, Daraga can very well be the fourth city of Albay.

 

Daraga Tourism

Tourist attractions of Daraga include Cagsawa Ruins Park, Cagsawa Museum, and Church of Our Lady of the Gate, which is located on top of a hill and is known for its rich baroque architecture.

 

As the municipality progresses, vacation rental such as hotels and resorts are being put in place.
