Kabacan is a first-class municipality in Cotabato Province.
It derived its name from the word “Ka-abacan” which means the “source of abundance.” Kabacan has a total land area of 44,809 hectares, mostly lowlands.
Kabacan got its moniker “Rice Granary of the Province of Cotabato” due to its large paddy fields. Corn is the secondary crop of this town, which has a population of 61,998 people in 12,663 households as of 2007.
