The Guimaras Bee Center in Sitio Casillian, Concordia, Sibunag, Guimaras will be the main institution that will spearhead the progation of the art and science of bee farming in the province of Guimaras through technical support. Jordan
Guimaras Wonders farm in Alaguisoc, Jordan, Guimaras is a 7-hectare farm owned by the Greisser couple who fell in love with the island in their 10-day visit several years ago. Mr. Greisser gave up his previous job as a pastry chef and his wife, Rose, gave up her home in Bulacan. Since then the couple spent their days busily tending to their pineapple and mango plantation. The couple only uses organic fertilizer and herbal insecticide in the farm and also in the vegetable and fruit garden. Visitors can have a tour of the farm to see the pineapples, mangoes, organic garden, and even have some snacks made from the farms produce. Visitors can also pick fruits in season. Guimbal
Known for its beautiful ornamental plants and landscapes, the plaza is described by many as the little Luneta of southern Iloilo. It is well-maintained and well-lighted at night. It can be likened to a European labyrinth. The plaza also serves as venue for the municipality's activities especially during the town fiesta. You may also want to check out some landmarks in the plaza's vicinity. A short walk from the plaza will take you to the Spanish Archbridge and Guimbal Church. Guimbal
The Guimbal Roman Catholic Church is the first structure that greets passers-by and tourists as they are ushered into the poblacion. Famous for its Spanish architecture, the church is built of adobe stones called igang quarried from Sitio Igang in Barangay Igcocola and coral stones quarried from Guimaras and Barangay Calampitao. The church was constructed in 1733 through forced labor or polo imposed by the Spanish friars during the Spanish colonial period. It has undergone some reconstruction and restoration after it was destroyed twice durind the Second World War and during the 1948 earthquake. At present it was rehabilitated to its original structure. The Roman Catholic faith was introduced in Guimbal in 1590. Nueva Valencia, Guimaras
The Guisi Point Lighthouse in Brgy. Dolores in the town of Nueva Valencia, was built during the 18th century to guide passing ships cruising along the Guimaras Strait. Two of the three lighthouses in Guisi were built during the Spanish era, the third one is newer compared to the two and is in working condition. Aside from the lighthouse and ruins in Guisi, another pride of this place is its unspoilt beach. Not much of beachcombers here as compared to the popular Guimaras Beach site in Alubihod. And the view of the beach from the Lighthouse and Ruins is simply breathtaking. How to Get To Guisi Point Lighthouse From Iloilo City, take a pump boat ride to Jordan Port in Ortiz St., City Proper. Once there, the Guimaras Tourism Office can help you find transportation if you wish to travel by land (Multicab = P500 for One-way and P800 for Roundtrip) or by sea (Small pump boat is P700).
