Fort San Pedro

Fort San Pedro is a military defense structure built in 1738 by native Cebuanos and Spanish laborers under the command of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. It was intended as a means to repel Muslim raiders.

During the American occupation, it was converted into a school where most Cebuanos received formal education. It was later turned into an emergency hospital during battles.

Today, it is considered as a historical park with some parts of the fort acting as a museum. It is under the care of the Cebu City government.
