Baywalk, also known as Seawall, is a place where people can relax for free. It is located along the Matina Coast and is known for giving a great view of the sunset. The attraction was previously a place where teenagers hung out to drink, but the place became prone to fights which led to stabbing incidents. Now, the place is developed to become an attraction. Bringing liquor within the premises is prohibited but there is a small restaurant where you can buy light drinks.
A replica of Michaelangelo's David stands within the area (and was quite controversial when it was built because Filipinos are not accustomed to seeing portrayal of nudity). In front of the statue lies a pool with small sharks. Nearby is also a mini zoo which houses ostriches and mouse deers. Further into the seashore is a replica of the Harbour of Denmark, a statue of a Mermaid.
How to get to Baywalk
Baywalk is at the tip of the Matina Aplaya Road and is close to Ecoland. You can reach the place by taxi. Take note that it is directly beside Queensland, a motel known to be a romantic getaway for couples. Baywalk can be reached by entering the main entrance to Queensland.
