3rd Weekend of February | Iloilo City
During the Paraw Regatta, colorful paraws or sailboats race across the strait of Guimaras and Iloilo.
The vantage point will be at Villa, Iloilo City. Celebrating its 38th year this year, the event is said to be the oldest traditional craft event in Asia, and the largest sailing event in the Philippines.
It started as a simple race of colorful paraws but has grown into a festival of various activities. Some of the activities in this yearly celebration are Pinta Paraw, a painting contest with big sails as canvass; Pintawo, a body painting contest; Miniature Paraw-making, Paraw Regatta Festival Torch Parade, Miss Paraw Regatta, and many more.
